Planning Inspector's Report Delayed

On 27th October 2009, Oxford City Council announced that the Inspector's Report on the Core Strategy has been delayed. The Inspector, David Fenton, had intended to issue his report for comment by the council by 30th October 2009 and to the public, approximately two weeks later. However, as a result of a number of legal challenges to the Regional Strategy (RSS), the parent plan to the Core Strategy, he has decided to delay publication. Some days later the Planning Inspectorate announced David Fenton's retirement and his replacement by Stephen Pratt, who will conduct further hearing sessions. At the moment it is not clear what these further sessions will consist of but we are assured that he will consider only the effects of the legal challenge to the RSS on the Core Strategy.
